Moses said to the heads of the tribes of Israel: “This is what the LORD commands: When a man makes a vow to the LORD or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said. Numbers 20:1-2 NIV
Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth . . . so help you God?
Hmmmmmm . . . should make you think before saying I do.
Much has changed over the centuries, but the idea of swearing an oath to God has not changed.
Consider your words and your vows.
