So Joshua took the entire land, just as the LORD had directed Moses, and he gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their tribal divisions. Then the land had rest from war.

I like the idea of rest from war.
I am tired of war, the rumors of war, the images of war, the speculation of war, the war on war, and war in general.
How about you?
I like the idea that when God is finished with the work He has promised that there was rest from war.
I can't help be reminded of a future time that is promised. A time when it will come to be that there is no more war.
Until then, I will try to live with the words of St Francis, "Let there be peace, and let it begin with me."
