Do not have two differing weights in your bag—one heavy, one light. Do not have two differing measures in your house—one large, one small. You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. For the LORD your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly. Deut 25:13-16
Practice what you preach . . .
What's good for the goose is good for the gander . . .
Treat everyone equally . . .
Do not set out to deceive with your business practices . . .
These are not new ideas. They are all part of the law that was given by God to the Israelites as they set out to settle the promised land.
We can be thankful that every time we knowingly deceive someone that God is not there to pass quick and severe judgement. BUT, do not be deceived either. Judgement for your actions will come at the end of your time on this earth.
Jesus died that we might not have to live under the penalty of death and that we might not have to live under the burden of the law.
However, freedom fro the burden of the law does not make us free to live as we want. In our freedom we submit to the King of kings and willingly become His servant. It is in that moment that we can choose to obey the law not of concern for punishment but out of love for the King.
How you live your faith matters now . . . and always.
