Holy Land Day 7 ... in the Marketplace

He began to interact with the Jews and Gentile God-worshippers in the synagogue.
He also addressed whoever happened to be in the marketplace each day.  Acts 17:7 CEB

Late in the afternoon the people still are streaming in and out of the Damascus Gate to enter the marketplace.  So many people, speaking different languages, needing and wanting different things.

We shopped all day.  We bought souvenirs - reminders of our trip.  We bought gifts for family.  We met people from all over.  We saw pilgrims walking the Via Delarosa from Sri Lanka.  We stopped to listen as the sang and worshipped.

We never worried about going hungry as every type of fruit, vegetable, meat, candy, bread, you name it was available to us.  We ate lunch at a Cafe near the New Gate and laughed and told stories.  How many times that must have happened in a place like this over the centuries.  It was our last day in the Old City, but we made many memories with new and old friends. What an experience to walk the crowed streets of the market and ponder what it must have been like for the early apostles to talk with the cosmopolitan group gathering in Jerusalem!

As you gather in your marketplaces, will you tell the stories of your faith?
