Because if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and in your heart you have faith that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Trusting with the heart leads to righteousness, and confessing with the mouth leads to salvation.Romans 10:9-10 CEB
There is a lot of doctrine and theology contained in these two verses.
What must we believe to be saved?
Jesus is Lord. This is an admission that Jesus is God. Jesus is divine.
Jesus is raised from the dead. Jesus not only lived, but still lives!
But there is more . . .
To believe (internal/heart) this is not enough . . .
You must also live (external/mouth) it.
